Gateway Park

Just wrapped up our Tuesday night run out of Gateway Park. Though I ran the whole way, it was a tough 45 minutes. I was really feeling the distance today...which was 4.2 miles.

The Mt. Vernon trail has some rolling hills along the Potomac River. From time to time you see boats zooming up the River and on the other side of you there are cars whizzing by as they head out to the suburbs of Virginia.

I have been told that I should try and keep moving up the hills --- especially the difficult (for me) finish of the run as we make our way over the highway and back up toward Rosalyn. It is a killer and your legs are just throbbing.

Luckily I was with a group of folks who were great pacers and helped push me along. As always...I was so happy to make it to the end.

Looking forward to the first day of track practice tomorrow!
