It was a huge boost to see:
*My family as I came out of the swim and ran toward Transition. I ran up the ramp and hear people screaming my name. A big smile comes across my face as I see my family right there on the railing.
* Mark as I rounded the Lincoln Memorial on my bike. He had a great position and I was even able to yell out an update. It probably sounded something like this, "Man, I'm tired. I have one more of these loops to do."
* The parents cheering as I rounded lap 1 on my bike. As I rounded the first lap I heard the parents screaming my name. That gave me a boost to keep powering forward onto lap 2. I may have even passed a few folks in this section. I'm sure they passed me again later. :)
*Mark and my dad as I started the brutal 10k. As I exited the transition area, I saw Mark and my dad. My dad gave me a big hug and kiss as I started what would be a wicked 10k.
*Keith, Tom, Cathy and baby Emma on 15th Street as I headed to Mile Marker 2 of the run. It was like playing "Where is Waldo." I kept seeing people I knew along the run route. I even gave baby Emma a hi-five as I passed her.
*Coach Katie who ran a little way with me as I headed to the Capitol. It was a thrill to see Coach Katie on the run twice.
* ...and finally all my fellow Snapple trainees and our coaches who yelled out encouragement along the course.
No matter where you finished...we all finished. WE ARE ROCK STARS!!!
So...when is the next race???
