Sometimes it's the little things that make an effort worthwhile. In my case it was a venti skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks. Yum and warm.
This morning I re-set my alarm and later barked at the darkness as I dragged myself out of bed to hook up for my first Saturday long run in a LONG time. The Road Runners were scheduled to knock out 7 miles.
This season the half marathon group is running out of Pacer's on P Street --- a much better location vs. Fleet Feet in Adam's Morgan.
As we headed out for our run large fluffy snowflakes began to fall and quickly blanketed our path. Man...memories of running last winter in the multiple snowstorms.
Overall, it wasn't as awful as I thought it was going to be...and by awful I mean painful. We crossed paths with the marathon training group down in Rock Creek on one of the paths which was fun.
Very glad to have gotten out there and back onto a schedule. Bonus that the group is fabulous, lots of familiar faces, ample parking and a Starbucks right next door.
