Best Laid Plans

According to Coach Jim tonight was all about swimming. After work I headed over to Wilson Aquatics to get in my workout.

Though I had grand plans to strictly adhere to Coach Jim's workout, I really wasn't feeling the 3x300 set at the end of the workout that I was supposed to do in order to establish my new 100 meter pace time.

I ended up doing more 50 builds, some kick sets and some distance work instead.

My excuse is that I haven't been chlorinated in SO long that I was not in any shape to knock out a set like that. I'm not going to beat myself up. The good news is that I got out there and put in some time. Got those arms and legs moving and reminded myself why I miss this. Bonus that I finished the night with some whirlpool time.

On the "how random note" --- while waiting for the metro I ran into Rebecca S. You may recall that she's the nutritionist who spoke to the Snapple folks last week. She is awesome --- so normal and understands the struggles of getting it right. I really enjoyed catching up with her and knowing that there's no such thing as perfect and even the best of us regularly struggle to "be good."
